Montgomery County is home to around 250,000 residents and is one of the most diverse counties in the state. A powerful symbol of that diversity is the Avenue of Flags along Riverside Drive at McGregor Park. Each of those flags represent a country that has a number of families in the Clarksville area.
A great many immigrants have called Clarksville home by way of the military and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. As such, Montgomery County includes a level of racial diversity that is seen in very few municipalities its size. These are families and individuals that literally come from all walks of life.
District 21 is no exception. We are comprised of neighborhoods that reflect that diversity at every level and Commissioner David Shelton understands that. No matter what we look like, where we are from, how we love, or how we identify, every single resident deserves respect and dignity and a government that works for them.
”As your commissioner, I am committed to representing everyone in the district, because the more we can work together, no matter our differences, we have more in common than we realize,” David says. “Common ground is a foundation we can all build on.”
